The expanded website features new online ordering and links to Facebook. It features updated SEO and YouTube Links.

We recently updated the Ronzio website to feature store locations on nearly every page and offering online take out orders.  And we started a campaign on Facebook to connect with the faithful Ronzio customers.  We would like to gather comments and useful information on how to improve the Ronzio offering.  Ronzio’s website has over 6000 visitors a month getting coupons and reading menus.  Now they can order online! Happy Friday.

CSS Cascading Style Sheets Visual Styler

Personal Cascading Style Sheets Example Page

Cascading Style Sheet Testing Page.

A Great Website CSS Development Tool

In the late 1980’s – large scale publishing programs were the newest typographic and style software programs to hit printing and designers.  ”With a push of a button, we can change and update the entire book,” exclaimed the presenter.  I believe is was called “FrameMaker.”  Flip nearly 30 years into the future and although we can’t hydrate a single pill into a full blown turkey dinner, we can use style sheets for our websites AND by using the “style sheet testing page,” you can now view your styles like it was 1985.

Please feel free to use this style guide any way you choose.  Simply attach any style sheet to see what your default headers and paragraph settings are.  Add your own style to this sheet and view all your custom classes.  This is as close to a typographers test sheet for viewing fonts as we had in the early 80′S.  At that time you would see the font in about 6 six different sizes to see what the “gray value,” might be.  Too black – open the leading or line height. Does the type “twinkle,” then too much word and letter spacing – tighten this value. Creating robot txt files to control search access.

Block unwanted searches

About robots.txt and search engines

All websites are searched.  When and where your site is searched is controlled by a simple text file called the robots.txt. The name is a web-standard and you can make a simple file in any text editor.  A robot.txt file is not a security file and does not block folders or files from access – you can simply enter any address from your site and go there. Robot text does block about 99% of unwanted detection and automation from rogue robots and many  spammers.

To exclude all robots from the entire server (place file with your index.html file)

The death of Communication Arts – Long Live Unfiltered Art

August 18th, 2009

The UNfiltered

The Unfiltered

There was a time when viewing what was considered great visual photography, illustration, graphic design and art direction, you had to wait for your Communications Arts. Or Print Magazine or Emigre. But pages are limited so you really could only see what was “filtered,” by magazines or editors. Each month we viewed eight pieces of art here and a photographer page with little six images and self portrait. And if you really waited, once a year they would have a special issue of just photography or art direction – wow – we just couldn’t wait for that special edition.

Well it’s officially over. We no longer need to have an art director from Chicago “filter,” our art based on personal criteria. The web has unleashed it all – sports, gambling, entertainment and sex. And you don’t have to wait. Pick your favorite thing – hit the keys and you are there – UNfiltered.

But with all due respect, I’d like to thank CA for all those years of glossy art. All the stories. All the great people featured. But now it’s the web’s turn comrade. I have a special place for you in my heart and in the recycling bin.

Sometimes great work needs to be put next to work that is not as good.   So thanks again CA, but I’ll have my art sandwich with everything on it, and I’ll have it unfiltered and toasted!
